At first, I wasn't sure where to begin. I chose source materials that had organic lines. I really love line-work and a consistent flow throughout the piece. Femininity often sticks out of my art and I believe that is still the case here. I definitely could have added more to the pieces. The reason I didn't was that I did not want it to become even more objective than it already was. As far as the accordion style, I did cut the pieces and fold them and begin to assemble it. However, I did not want to get glue on my pieces that had been drawn on inside the 1/2 in margin we had planned. I know this is a technical flaw and I apologize. I did attempt to set them up so that the progression of the pieces was shown in the same manner. I chose eyes because I often do eyes in my work, except this time I chose the eyes of animals. I used fish and deer eyes because I wanted to use hunted animals. I connect a lot with nature, though I am not a vegetarian, and I am not against hunting. I believe the beauty in the world is seen much more clearly when people can disconnect from all the chaos and really hone in on the outside world. I am a big fan of doodling patterns in my spare time, so a few of these pieces were pretty fun to do! I wish I would have used some of the space more wisely, but I did try and make up for that. My main criticism was that they were more objective than what others may usually view as non-objective. I only used portions of each source image, or even mere lines. It was more non-objective than meets the eye if you're looking for objects. But altogether I think this was a success and I would know how to better execute it in the future now that I have it done.
