Project Description:
When starting project 3, I really didn't have a clear direction. With that being said I put in my earbuds and blasted some tunes and went at it. My thinking with this was that I needed to have a hundred pieces out of the two compositions that I was starting with and how was I going to get that number quick? Well before I left for class that morning I found my solution and that was a hole puncher. I thought sweet! I have my worry solved about getting the hundred pieces out of the way and also the idea of incorporating light and shadow. The next thing that I had to address was making my reconstruction. The one idea that spoke to me when this project was given was a flesh wound inspired piece and this was because of the red and blue colors of the originals. I went with this idea and made one flesh wound piece that had red in the middle and blue surrounding the red with red hole punch confetti on top and from there I was at 64 pieces and I needed more so I made a second was the same thing but in reverse with blue in the middle and red surrounding the blue with blue confetti on top of the red and I had over a hundred pieces. however I had a massive amount of left over original composition so I I thought well I need and want to use every single piece I get out of this so I made two more flesh wound things and then I had a big piece of the blue composition left as well as the red and pink so I hole punched the dark red of the left over piece and put mixed blue confetti on top of the pink portion of that left over piece but it also showed up all around the piece too. I didn't want all separate elements I wanted a big piece that had everything connected, so with that it was connected. The fixatives are glue-- a glue stick. With the reverse colors it was bringing the diptick back into the reconstruction. Overall I really enjoyed this project and I'm extremely happy with the outcome/ final reconstruction composition.
