Final Project - Carissa Chacon
I really enjoyed doing this project. I had a lot of fun incorporating something that I do on a daily basis - my makeup. For about a week, any time that one of my family members or myself would walk into my room, we had to do a little bit of everything. One splash of foundation, one splash of concealer, a dab of blush, draw a line using eyeliner, scrape mascara underneath the line, swatch any type of eyeshadow, and lastly, pick a lipstick and kiss the board. I might've went a bit overboard with the instructions and materials to use, but I wanted the project to really focus on something that I do on a daily basis, which is using all of those products. The project itself was messy, but I liked it because it gave the project character. Not to mention, doing a full face of makeup is always messy. Overall, I really enjoyed having complete freedom with this project and being able to express myself one last time with something that I enjoy the most. Thanks for an awesome and fun semester, Jessica!
Project #6 - Carissa Chacon
For this project, I had a very difficult time trying to gather my ideas and how I wanted to go about with it. I ended up missing class the day we started this project and was a bit lost afterwards. I feel like I did my best to complete the guidelines since I was in a bit of a rush to do this project, but I know this project could've had more potential. Unfortunately, my 3D effect that I wanted to create didn't come out as well as I wanted it to and I had some trouble with the pins and the foam core board. Overall, I wish I had done better on this project, but I know I did my best as far as completing guidelines.
Sydney Oliva projects 6 and Final
Project 6 was easily one of my favorites all semester. I loved my finished collage more than any other piece in this class, and was pleasantly surprised that I liked the black paper version. I don't think I would do anything different if I did this project again.
The Final Project ended up giving me more ideas for future projects than being successful in its own right. It was a good exercise, and I want to do similar things in the future to broaden my horizons in art.
Thanks for a rockin semester!
Simone Freeman Last Project and Final
Project 6 came out pretty interesting. I started with my collage which consisted of newspaper paper an old manga book that i cut up and the texture pattern drawn from my wall in the bedroom in my house. Overall i think the Black paper turned out well. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning because i was not sure how i was going to transfer 3 different layers onto a large scale like this. I think it worked well together and I had fun doing this project
Items
1. Make up of your choice
2. Water colour paper
Directions
1. Cut watercoulor paper in half diagonally.
2. apply make up every day
3. use same makeup and same strokes and transfer onto paper.
4. document results.
This project was fun. I could use the same things I did for my makeup and just transfer it onto paper overall I think this was a fun and insightful project.

INSTRUCTIONS:
what you will need:
- a dirty eyeshadow brush
- paper towel or a toilet paper square (for each day)
- marker for labeling
Directions:
1. Use eyeshadow brush to put on eyeshadow. After applying leave the brush on table or where you usually store it.
2. When ready the next day to apply new eyeshadow take your dirty brush and a toilet paper square or paper towel and clean off brush. to clean: move your brush in a circular motion on the square with picking a new spot every 6 spins until the brush is clean.
3. repeat tis for as many days as wanted.
REFLECTION:
This project was very interesting. My original idea was to put tracing paper over my keyboard and type what I had to for that day using paint dipped fingers but it didn't really work out at all. so what I did instead was to do what I do every morning and that is to clean my eyeshadow brush. I recorded it for 10 days and for three I didn't wear makeup so I put no makeup on a square. this project was fun.

For this project I found the rubbings from around the classroom. I didn't know where I wanted to go with this project but it worked out in the end. The main rubbing that I chose for my background was that of an arrangement of tape on the table, this is what is repeated over and over again. For the collage I didn't know at first if I should find things on google and put them together and then I thought that wouldn't really look good so I found a vogue magazine laying around my house so I used that and found amazing things to put together to make something I love. Then came time for the black paper, I will admit that my figure layers are a little bit to small and my bottom textured layer was to big, so with that I'm a little upset with. but the good thing with the big background layer the tape design wasn't lost. I made sure with the figures I paid attention to the details of the textures and made sure they were present. overall though some things went wrong or different then what I intended it still worked out and gave focus to the textures.
Extra Final Art Project- Mack Need
I originally did this as my main final, but then I realized it was much more expressive and should be used for my extra credit one. This is based off the original picture of myself that a friend of mine and I collaborated on. It is about vanity and being trapped by it. I was inspired to do the red prison-bar-type design once I cut out the "Danger" red ribbon on my collage. It is dangerous to be so sucked into superficial things these days. The photo shows me taking a selfie. We did a whole series shoot on selfies and vanity. The woman is faceless because she's meant to be. Lacking of substance and blinded by the way others might see her. Again, I am very passionate about psychology and people and why we do what we do. I took this project as an opportunity to show that. I also added elements such as twigs and stickers to mimick my sleeve. I used an old phone case to replace the phone and add a 3D element.

Repeat step two.
Step 6:
Repeat these steps for 7 days until there is one weeks worth of markings.
Step 7:
Notice any correlations that may have been made.
When I approached this final, I knew the only thing I do every single day that could be documented, is smoking. I use it for motivation, anxiety, pain, happiness, etc...
The correlations were not as obvious as I had hoped, because I honestly did not have as many materials (blunts) as I would have liked. However, it does seem like the days that I smoked less I may have ended up less likely to be happy. I wanted to simply make it a little experiment for myself considering my major is Psychology and I'm passionate about it.
